Historic Downtown Shopping

Just across scenic Lake Ray Hubbard, east of Dallas, the Historic DOWNTOWN DISTRICT of ROCKWALL offers a unique collection of shoppes, businesses and restaurants situated around the beautifully restored Historic Courthouse.  The City of Rockwall has been very active in ensuring the preservation of the downtown charm.  These growing number of unique businesses offer specialty merchandise from Texas designs, home decor to beautiful artwork; as well as small individually owned, yet highly rated restaurants for your dining pleasure.  Several shops carry antiques and unique treasures that will delight any shopper!

This area is a great complement to the rapidly growing retail district along the East interstate corridor.  Visitors may go north from I-30 on either State Highways 205 or 740 to the tree lined square and spend an enjoyable hour, half day or more.  While there, you might also enjoy driving through the area around the square, taking note  of the old original homes which have been restored; some even exceeding their original beauty and charm.
